It is said that the Negroni cocktail was created in Florence in 1919 by Fosco Scarselli in his bar, the Café Casoni, after the famous Count Camilo Negroni asked him to make his favorite cocktail - the Americano - more intense by adding a splash of gin instead of soda water. Scarselli added a slice of orange as a garnish instead of the usual lemon twist, and from that moment on, the Negroni was born.
